We use a third party merchant services who also provides our cash advance services...

Its not a money maker - we only make a small set fee on each transaction.

Two questions - do others on this forum make a small set fee or is it a fee based on the amount..

We make x dollars for a $5 cash advance or $5000 advance..

Secondly - do you have to allow non-customers the ability to do cash advances and can you set limits on the amount of cash anyone gets?

1. VISA/MasterCard both prohibit charging the cardholder a fee for a cash advance. You recieve residual fees paid by the issuing bank.

2. VISA/MasterCard both require that you process cash advances for all of their cardholders whether or not they are your customer.

3. If you set a per day maximum (VISA/MasterCard state that the maximum cannot be lower than $5000) you must limit all cardholders to the same maximum, including your own customers.
