I have searched BOL and am not having much luck finding ana answer to this question.

My understanding is that an attorney-in-fact must sign there name as such when endorsing an item for the principal. So, let's say that Jane Smith is POA for John Doe. She could sign "Jane Smith attorney-in-fact for John Doe", correct? Would this work for all checks made payable to John Doe (with the exception of Treasury checks since they have specific endorsement requirements)?

Thanks in advance!

That is my understanding as well. And POA should be durable, or you would have to evaluate situation each time a check is presented.
