I got my son out on his first official "run" last night. We met up with a friend and her son, the boys ran a shorter route and us moms ran longer. He didn't want to go but I made him and he ended up enjoying himself and hopefully making a new friend. I'm hoping that we can keep doing this and that this develops into a good, helathy activity that he will look forward to. And it gives me a built in running partner.

I didnt succeed with the Princess. At all.
I can out run the manchild. But I know better than to challenge him at wrestling. He's matching me in weight and I've got him by a 1/2 inch in height. It wont be long and my little 14 year old will be looking down on mommy.

You may have succeeded more than you know with the princess. Check in when she's 30... we'll see. As for the other, sounds like you are raising a good and proper manchild. He is supposed to be bigger and wrestle better (even though you hate to lose at anything)! He has to catch up with his feet!

I did my situps and pushups at the gym last night in the corner, and I didn't realize anyone was paying any attention to me until the teenage kids wearing matching local high school sports team tshirts commented, "That's a LOT of pushups and situps!" as I was walking away. I told them it was 116 of each, because it was the 116th day of the year. They thought that was a great idea and decided to go "tell Coach", who was working out nearby. The pushup challenge is still spreading, mid-year. In other (non) news, my shoulders and oblique abdominals really really hurt.

It's a "good" hurt, hopefully? One that keeps it always in your mind that you're working hard, and that pain is your body telling you "Thanks for taking care of me! Now please use some ibuprofen or something...or else!" "Pain is just weakness leaving the body." - my Army ex and all of his buddies (eyeroll) Yes, the pain is just my body adjusting to me putting it through its paces. It's not a bad/wrong/injured kind of hurt. Just an ACK!/muscles waking up/I know we're in here somewhere under this layer of evil fat cells kind of hurt. Thanks for the nice comments. What would I do without my BOL Pushup buddies and their encouragement? Hope I never have to find out....

Well that's good news! For me, the first set and the last set tend to stink, and hopefully the ones in the middle aren't too bad!
I'm into 5 sets now, still trying to mix up different styles and keep it challenging. Still not my favorite thing in the world to do, but at least I'm doing them!

Planning on some inclined push-up (small office) during my back to back meetings that will consume most of my day today. At least I can say that I was productive then.

Pushups on the board room table, apparently frowned upon.... Who knew!?!?

I let a friend borrow my bike for the weekend. Just in from Germany, good guy, just chaptered out of the military with PTSD and bikes like a maniac to help control his issues. His bike is being shipped from Germany and won't be here until June. I thought it was a good cause. If you could nudge about a 2-3 hour block of time, during which my family is completely frozen and put on hold, in my direction...that would be more helpful. My mountain bike and I would then have a chance to become better acquainted.

Failed to do any pushups Friday, but I put up 308 on Saturday, 120 on Sunday and another 304 this morning.
Feeling good.
Now, if I could JUST get myself motivated to get some cardio work done!! We are balancing the universe. I'm doing all cardio. No push ups. It's all good.
