OK...I understand the timing of this notice, but am curious to find out how everyone is taking care of it. In other words, is this notice (letter really) something that has been included on your system and is automatically generated for the appropriate type of loans when they reach a defined number of days delinquent between 1 and 45? Or, are you having to depend on past due reports of some sort, and then manually generating the HUD notice to be mailed out to the customer? In either event, at what point between day 1 and day 45 are you generating that notice...and were you able to combine it with the homeowner counseling notice that is also required, or produce them separately?

You can research this in these threads but I think you'll find that many banks integrated it with their past due notice and it is sent to all mortgage borrowers, in a nutshell.

Do the HUD /SCRA notices need to be sent to borrowers /servicemembers each month that that the loan is past due and has not come current or only once for the delinquency within initial 45 days and remain past due?

It must be sent within 45 days of the default. I read it to be once and if the loan pays current but then falls past due again, send it again. If it is integrated into a monthly notice, that is fine too.
