When he asked how she came up with that name she said the hospital named her...it was the name they put on her hospital bracelet.

When one of my best friend got married she elected NOT to take her husband's last name. She didn't like the idea of being Claire Clare. (pronounced the same)

I went to collage with a Dorcus, yes BBB she was very pretty but the name was out there.
I also knew a Penney Nichol.

My sister told me that when she worked as a nurses aid that a woman just had a baby and named her Placenta. My sister asked her why and the lady said - I heard the Dr. say he was deliviering the placenta and I just thought it was such a pretty name. come to find out, the woman had no idea what a plancenta was and thought the doc was calling her baby that.

A little off-track, but this takes me back to one year in elementary school we had a new kid join the class. The teacher asked if he liked to be called by another name so she could reflect it on her roll and he said "J". She asked how he spelled it. He said "J". She said "I know, but how do you spell it?". He said "J". She said "OK, but do you spell it J-A-Y or J-A-E or some other way?". He said "J". This went on for a bit until he said "Why can't you understand - you spell it 'J dot'!".

That was his way of saying just "J". He was known as J-Dot forevermore. Still makes me chuckle when I think of it, which happens rather often when I see a Just Jay post.

Getting back on track, I also knew a Harry Bube.

When I was in middle school, I had a classmate named Holly Bush.

A girl I knew in high school got married and took her husband's last name, which made her legal name Sunny Day.

FWIW, if I had married my teenage sweetheart my name would have been Autumn Day.

My ex had two students who were best friends, and they wanted to switch last names; their real names were Shelly Fetchen and Gretchen Storm.

I really shouldn't make fun of others names, my married last name in Winch. Can't tell you the amount of people who don't know the difference between "Winch" and "Wench". My husband threatened that if we had a boy, he would name him Rusty.

My maiden name was Cobb. When I was in high school, I was talking on the phone to a new boyfriend. He asked me what my middle name was. So I challenged him to guess what middle naturally flows between Shirley and Cobb. His answer...."corn on the." We didn't last very long.

So what is your middle name then? Sheesh, you left us hanging.
