I'm really starting to become open-minded about the futbol....it's the Tour de France where you lose me.

I think Happy lives in the wrong country. Super Bowl tops World Cup.

Now THIS is what i'm pumped about......will be betting on Dullahan, but if IHA wins, that's good too (but at 2-5 or so, absolutely an insane bet to win).

I am not betting on any horse as I do not wish it to loose.

I would like IHA to win as it would be a boost to the sport (unlike soccer which is not a sport but I digress). Elmont and the towns nearby could use the boost.

I hope he wins too (if it's head and head between IHA and Dullahan down the lane, will be interesting which way i'm rooting....honestly, probably toward my money)....but i've seen it get to this point too many times when the public is convinced the horse will do it and he doesn't. A mile and a half is the big unknown and the fact that Gutierrez has never ridden at Belmont is a huge disadvantage. I think the local NY jocks knowledge of the track is huge.

I worked at a branch across the street from belmont. It was a trip. Most of the jockeys were nice. The trainers well all nice. Every now and again a Football (real football not the soccer thing)player would show up. The smell in the branch was not like any other branch.

Where I am supposed to be
I'll Have Another has been removed from the Belmont by its trainer.

This is due to swelling in one of its legs. No Triple Crown winner this year.

Was on the Dan Patrick Show this morning.

"We scanned his left front leg and he's got the start of tendinitis going on in his front leg. He's not 100 percent and we ain't taking any chances,
O'Neill said. "It's not tragic, but it's a huge disappointment. I'm just so bummed for the horse, obviously, and then for the the whole team."

I'd love to see him back in my barn in a few months but realistically he'll probably he'll probably be seeing a lot of beautiful mares and smoking a lot of cigarettes."

Now back to the "sport" of North Korea.

Try comparing it over the same time frame. Yeah, maybe the world cup gets more people watching at one time, but that's because they make them wait years to have it. The Super Bowl draws huge numbers EVERY YEAR, not every other year. If Soccer were really that popular, they'd have it every year. Much like the Olympics, we like to watch it, but we don't care enough to watch it annually.

this is possibly the most non-sensical statement i've ever read...

since you have no understanding as to why it is held every 4 years, instead of annually, i'll give you a brief outline...NFL plays 16 games, 4 pre-season, and max of 4 playoff games to get to the superbowl...

world cup, with every nation in the world having the ability to participate, has a 3 year qualification process...some countries play as many as 32 games in those 3 years to qualify for the right to play in the WC Finals, which take palce every 4 years...add in to this that countries with pro soccer teams play 38 games schedules, then their are tournaments played in annually that could increase this number by as much as 30 games per year, plus add in friendly games between countrties, and you have too many games in a year to have the WC annually...

So what do you think so far Happy? I missed the Germany/Portugal game due to travel mad, but saw the others. Very interested to see how England looks today.

seems that many teams were playing "safety" and shootinf got a tie instead of a win. I was surprised by the Ireland/Croatia result, thoght for sure it would have gone the other way...

I think England is hoping to hold on until they can get Rooney on the pitch, but they'll need to win at least one of the 1st 2 without him in order to have a chance to advance
