Retired DQ 10K Club Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 40,766 Turnpike Exit 10	Officials autograph the ceremonial last beam before it is hoisted to the top of Four World Trade Center, Monday, June 25, 2012. The 72-floor, 977-foot tower is scheduled to open late next year. It's expected to be the first tower completed on the 16-acre site since the 9/11 attacks. I am with Ed though, it will take more than 12 years to do this ...goodnight, the Empire State building excavation started on January 22 of 1930 and the building was occupied on May 1 of 19 and 31. KMK Member Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 72 Pennsylvania	For the best view of this construction, take the FREE ferry over to Governor's Island - a five minute boat ride that offers an incredible view of the skyline.
