Pretty much this, but I don't do much of a warm-up on run days, I pretty much go straight into it. I do a short .1-.25 mile cooldown walk and my stretching afterwards and that's always worked for me.

Longer runs, I usually take a stretching break around 3 miles in, and again around 7 or so, mostly for my calves. My feet tend to fall asleep otherwise, and that seems to be the only thing that helps them.

I cant do that...we'll say it's because they're young. I've got to be up and moving about 30 minutes before I run.

So I can beat you in the race from alarm clock to running, but I'd bet you could still catch me and beat me, even with a 20 minute head start. I don't consider it much of a victory.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
it's weird, as I've always hated running in the morning (thank you 8th grade track coach) but love weights or cycling in the morning...and i can do all of them in the evening (used to start many a run at 11:00 PM or later - benefits of small town living)

It does the body good smile

I had pre-workout powder in water, and BCAA capsules. Yummy. I'm going to be sore tomorrow! Freaking push-ups about killed me at the end. I got to the point that I was doing sets of 20-25 and that's all I could manage. Shoulders were burned out from a variety of plank-type core workouts.

I still have 2% chocolate mile as my post workout drink. Creatine and BCAA's are daily for me. Water and and Gatorade are also daily (about a gallon total). My caffeine fix is coffee in the morning and tea at lunch (those and water at meals are not included in the gallon total)It keeps my hydrated for the hot weather.. I have a protein shake per day too. A little peanut butter here and there....some trail mix.....

Has nothing to do with the burning... It really does help your muscles recover. I haven't been sore afterwards since I started with them. I usually have a protein shake (blended with a banana and some almond milk) As breakfast after I run. I usually only do about a half of a Gu before a run that's less than 3 or 4, and I do the whole thing if it's longer. Nuun water before AND after, though!

I don't really warm up, but I walk for a few minutes before I run and after.

Is Runkeeper an iPhone thing? I use Runstar on my droid, and I love it. I might be going to iPhone, though, and that (and the Navigation!) are making me want to stick with a Droid.

I prefer to eat my calories vs drink them. I'd rather have 200 - 300 calories of nuts, chicken, turkey, etc than a shake. Plus...the majority of them hurt my tummy and that doesnt make them appealing at all.

I eat a fair amount (ask anyone) smile
But for the number of calories I need to consume, and when i need to consume them, using shakes, as a supplement, is just easier and they taste good! (if yours arent, you are doing it wrong). It is also an easy way to control portion size and content. I get the vast majority of my calories from whole grains, veggies and lean meats like chicken and turkey. Weekends are when I enjoy, steak, pizza, hot dogs hamburgers, beer or whatever suits me. Sometimes its still chicken. I just eat whatever I want on the weekend.

There is apparently a phone app for runners that lets you run from zombies - you listen through your headphones to a play list and if you slack I guess you get caught by a zombie. I think it's called Zombies Run.
