I looked at the synopsis of the 2nd book and it's the copy friend of the guy in the first book. So I bet it keeps the whole circle of friends going. It compared this author with Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum books.

Okie, I'm about 150 pages into Shadow of Night, and I tell you....it's just as good....even better...that Discovery. This writer is exquisite in making you feel like you are there with the characters!

Just finished Halfway to the Grave, of course ordered book 2. grin Now I am about 10 % into Divorced Desperate and Delicious. She's a funny character. I like her already. Her mom is a hoot, too.

Read it, loved it. The artistry was absolutely stunning. KMM did a very nice introduction and narrative on the entire process of creating the graphic novel. Then she included a tribute to the artists (one of whom has passed away). In addition, the initial sketches and descriptions of the main characters are in the back of the book.

One thing I really like is that she did several 'flashbacks' to the novels to help explain what's currently going on. It was really neat to see some of my favorite parts from the series in color! smile

I bought the next two in the series. Will start them after I finish Fifty Shades. Didn't get to read at all last night.

I have so many books on my kindle now that I didn't pay for, I almost hate to pay for new romance books- but I may have to bite the bullet and get DDD, it sounds like so much fun.

and I've officially decided I'm not reading Fifty Shades.

I have pages and pages! Some are good and some not so good, but I don't feel so bad when they are free. Every day when I see that Pixel of Ink e-mail in my inbox I get giddy. I just wish the house fairy would come visit and put my house back together after the remodel so all I have to do is read! Ha!

I didn't get the first DDD book for free, it was $3.99. I consider anything under $5.00 for a full length book to be a deal.

I spend way too much on books for my Kindle although I try not to beat myself up over it. There are worse habits to have. smile

Maybe we need a Kindle loaning program. Can't we do that? I would loan my copy to someone.

That would be great, but would be more practical if kindle's rules weren't so strict (I think to discourage this exact thing)

You can only loan a book ONCE ever, and only for two weeks.

for those who love horses and/or underdogs, very well-written:

out of the frying pan...
I finished the third Fifty book last night. It was decidedly better than the first two, but my overall impression is still very "meh."

Now I have to find something new to read. Might give that Divorced book a shot. wink

Phoenix - I looked at Eighty Dollar Champion, but is it worth the $12 Kindle price tag? The subject is near and dear to my heart since rescue horses are kind of what I do. smile

I had decided not to read Fifty- but then a friend got all 3 from her husband for her birthday, so I might borrow them when she's done. I'm certainly not paying for them. lol

Finished Wallflower last night. Kindle freebie, fairly long book, but set in the early 1800's so definitely a romance novel, not a smut book. There was no smut at all until 75% done. good story though- reminds me of most romantic comedies- boy courts girl for wrong reason, falls in love with girl, girl finds out about wrong reason, hijinks ensue, and they live happily ever after. lol

I'm a Kindler and would loan my 50 Shades series if anyone wants it. Right after you tell me how to loan. laugh

I am going to bite the bullet and buy the new Fever Moon book and the new Shadow of Night. I hate to pay those prices for something that I inhale in a matter of hours, but I will justify by using the cigarette money I am not spending. I go girl. grin

I love that! Maybe I'll use my snack money, or yarn money... Maybe I'll assign miles to a dollar amount. If I look at it as a reward, maybe it will motivate me to run more!

I got through all three of the Divorced and Desperate books. They were pretty good. Had a few laugh out loud moments. I'd probably read more of her stuff.

I just checked my Kindle and realized I had the Divorced and Desperate book. I'll have to add that to my queue.

I'm a kindler...LOVE IT! I finished the Fifty Shades trilogy. Now I'm reading Gabriel's Inferno. It's pretty good so far. I'm trying to decide what to read after this.
