I am hoping for a spell of hot and dry weather, the grass has not stopped growing this summer and I am getting too old to cut it every week. I think it was only 101 yesterday.

When I got through running yesterday, I swear my feet were on fire! No more running on blacktop until Fall!! Concrete or grass for the rest of the summer!

When I got through running yesterday, I swear my feet were on fire! No more running on blacktop until Fall!! Concrete or grass for the rest of the summer! It's probably best that you don't run on grass unless there's a Taco Bell nearby to cure the munchies.

Guess I was in the cool part of the state, Okie. It was only 106 when I got in my car after work yesterday. Move East QM...it was 111 on my way home yesterday!

They are predicting 113 today. We insulated and air-conditioned our Well House for the big dogs last year and they are making good use of it this year too!

OKC is on a year-round school calendar. I don't know quite how it works, but they have breaks of two weeks I think rather than 2 days in the fall, etc. We started that here too. Kids go back on Aug 8th. They get a 1 week break for fall break instead of 2 days, 2 weeks at Christmas, 2 weeks at spring break, 9 weeks for summer.

School begins next Wednesday the 8th here. that seems really early! They also get out before Memorial Day in May. We don't have snow days as snow just doesn't happen very often - once every 10 years or so.......
