Black-eyed peas are in the same family as gourds and squash, this is not people food! You will find them in the slop trough for the pigs!

Personally, I like BEP's...but you have to know how to cook 'em...and I don't recommend trying the dried or canned kind! whistle

I like to cook fresh or frozen with enough water to more than cover the peas. Add a little salt, pepper, olive oil and a couple of chicken boullion cubes. When they start to simmer, I cover and cook until done (I don't like mine mushy).
