So it's finally here. At the risk of incurring all the inane posts about futbol not being a sport or not being tough enough for all you macho men, I'm starting this thread for anyone who wants to talk about this EPL season.

Who's going to take it this year? Who's going to be top scorer? Will there be a break out star?

I havent a clue what EPL is, but I am always willing to be educated. So this would be the round kind of football with no hands and the good actors from Italy?

Pulling people out of the ditc...
Well, Van Persie going to Man U was a surprise, another scoring leader going to them, with that much talent I wonder who sits now? Or does Rooney now drop to a roving midfield, since he has been working more as a checkback striker anyway. Maybe tjhey'll finally let Berbatov go...

I think City is still the team to beat...

Arsenal will be lucky to crack the top 8.

Spurs should finish in the top 3...

City 1st
Man U 2nd,
spurs 3rd
Pool 4th

Rumors have ManU trying to sell Berbatov, but asking price to high, so far.

I think van Persie will lead in scoring, with both Manchesters duking it out for the title, with some room after that. Another cluster of 8-10 teams all about even duking it out for the other 2 Euro spots.

The relegation zone could b really interesting. I think any one of 10 teams could find themselves in trouble.

EPL starting to look a little like La Liga, with the two Manchesters far and away superior to the rest of the league like Barca and Real Madrid

Agree Straw. At this point it's become an arms race between the Manchesters. ManU gets RVP and rumor is City is going after Skrtel and Agger. Ridiculous how much talent is sitting on the bench. Plus it's killing my fantasy team trying to pick starting line-ups. smirk

Interested to see how some of the new imports work out; Hazard, Oscar, Kagawa, Podolski. I'd also like to see Lukaku do something at West Brom.

Hopefully there'll be an exciting battle for the third spot and relegation zone.

I am curious who Dempsey winds up with. Both merseyside clubs are rumored to be interested. If he goes to Everton, perhaps Donovan takes another loan with them this spring.

I can't pull for them. They were down and out for so long, but now it is like the Cubs buying every free agent and winning the Series. NOt really the team that was down and out.

I would love to have either at Everton. Personally, I just want to see Everton get back into European play.

As for the Barclays Premier League, I'm with those who see the two Manchester clubs battling it out. I think the Van Persie buy could put ManU over the top.

And I say you're on crack. Every year people predict the downfall of Arsenal (and Wenger in particular), and every year they're in the Champions League. Somehow, some way, the Gunners always make do.

God help us all of they do.

I hope Liverpool sucks, too.
