I just finished a Check imaging and branch capture audit. The bank has recently started doing remote deposit capture. The bank's mortgage company sends a file, and one business customer sends files. Currently the bank does not have a Remote Deposit Capture policy. I'm considering making a recommendation that a Remote Deposit Capture policy be developed and implemented. Could branch capture and remote deposit capture be combined into one audit, or should they be two separate audits?

I would say separate audits. Remote deposit capture is more of a Treasury product sold to your commercial customers. Branch Capture is more of a processing product related to the bank.
