The '09 movie required no knowledge or appreciation of the series or anything else. Most people I know that saw it had never even seen anything Star Trek related prior to that and still enjoyed the movie.
Besides, everyone knows Star Wars is cooler (and nerdier)!

The '09 movie required no knowledge or appreciation of the series or anything else. Most people I know that saw it had never even seen anything Star Trek related prior to that and still enjoyed the movie. ^^^ That would be my hubs.
