As part of the Credit Union network we do this fun thing called shared branching. Our member can go to a participating credit union and transact business on their account. So when the transaction requires the filing of a CTR the CTR is filed by the credit union that the transaction was completed at. Is there any type of regulation, rule etc that would require the original credit union the have a copy of that filed CTR? EX: Credit Union 1 member goes to Credit Union 2 and makes a cash deposit of $10,500.00. Credit Union 2 files the CTR listing Credit Union 1 as filing on be half of. Since the transaction took place at Credit Union 2 does Credit Union 1 need to keep a copy of the filed CTR?
