Where would the fee for recording a death certificate be disclosed on the GFE.

IMHO, I would say Public officials/recording fees/Block 7.

Why would it go on the GFE at all?
Since when does a death certificate have to be recorded as a cost of doing a loan?
Actually, does a death certificate get recorded at all? Arn't they just certified at the particular state's Division of Public Health?

TR, some states and/or title companies may require them to be filed as part of the deed transfer. In that case it would be a settlement charge. Although I will have to admit I'm not aware of any that do.

I do know some states, IN being one, require a POA be recorded if it is used to excute any document that has to be recorded or certified by a county or state official.

It is here, too, Dan. I figured it had to do with a release on an existing deed for title purposes.

nada to both recording a death cert or a POA around these parts. And a title company wouldn't heap on new requirements beyond what the state would require. Thank cod!

Yes the title company (Kansas) is requiring that the death cert be recorded since one of the owners on the DOT/Mortgage is deceased.

Recording the POA is pretty much standard practice here too.
