Not true!
I'm in Louisiana too and I'm at work. We substitute Mardi Gras and Good Friday for President's Day, Columbus Day and Veteran's Day.

no substitution for us, we just work... Sounds like us. We used to be closed for almost every federal holiday, then we got 'purchased' by a holding company that didn't feel as....generous. So they didn't want to pay us not to work those days. I think we are down to like 4 paid holidays? At first they took away around 6 holidays and gave us 2 'floater days' paid to make up for it. The next year, they took our floaters away too. Not cool...

It is the way banking is going, we are getting so competitive and it makes us stay open if there is even a chance another bank may be open. It is a customer service issue I think.

 Hey. Someone had to keep up with the 300-400 emails a day I was getting over the weekend. And the 3 emergency meetings yesterday. And whatever hits the fan today. I say I worked yesterday and that's that!

We spent most of yesterday outside enjoying the gorgeous fall weather.  <---- Likewise, got to weed the garden and take care of that overgrown lawn <---- Works for one of the many banks in South LA that were closed.
