If a co-applicant does not want to supply social security number due to religious reasons what does a lender need to do to approve them without being able to run a credit report? Hope someone else has had this come up because it is a first for us.

How will you CIP them without their SSN?

That is a problem, what do you do if they will not supply it? Would this be an ECOA issue if we deny them because of religion?

I think if you search the threads you will find others that reference the Amish. Unfortunately there is no 'out' for CIP (that I am aware of anyway).

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
You deny them for failure to provide you with sufficient identifying information. Everyone has a SSN - even if they don't use it or pay into it. I don't know of any religion that states you aren't allowed to give it when applying for a loan.
