Everyone has been reporting this. If the union doesn't stop the strike the company will be going out of business from what I understand from the blurb on CBS the other day.

Nope - they're going out of business. Stock up on your Ho-Ho's and Ding Dongs, Twinkies, etc. They'll last forever, so you should be good.

Most news outlets are reporting this. Hostess asked the bankruptcy court permission to liquidate because they could not reach an agreement with the striking workers. I won't miss Twinkies so much, but I will miss Ho Ho's. I know they have no nutritional value, but I used to love those with a cold glass of milk.

They closed the St. Louis plant about a week ago, telling the striking workers their jobs were gone. The strikers keep showing up to picket. They just don't get it. The jobs are gone.
Now it's the whole company. I'm sure Twinkies will survive, though. The company is planning to sell off their assets, including patents and trademarks.
You just can't have a work stoppage with a company that is already in Chapter 11 and has no cash.
