I've been out of operations for a while and am having trouble getting my arms around exception hold time frames. I know that we no longer have non-local checks. In 229.13((h)(4) it references "reasonable period" as six business days for checks described in 229.12(c)1 & 2, which is a reference to non-local checks.

What is the exception hold period (other than new accounts).

Thanks.

You take the "extension time" in 229.13(h) and add it to the statutory limit.
Check type Funds available by
Excess over $5000 of next day checks in new account deposit 9th business day
On-us checks 2nd business day
Checks or cash deposited at non-proprietary ATM 11th business day
All others 7th business day
