We are a small community bank and don't come across non-us citizen customers often. Well, not at all, until now!

What type of documentation do we need? We did all the proper CIP information, but do we need to completed a separate W8-ben? Or are those just for non-resident aliens?

HELP!

A resident alien would have a SSN and would complete a W-9.

A non-resident alien can also have a social security number if they are working in the US. They would sign a W-8BEN.

True, if they have the proper working Visa.
