We are considering implementing a threshold for claims. Anything under the threshold we reimburse automatically, anything over we put through the investigation process. Basically this is to save on the expense of investigating small dollar claims. Is anyone else doing this or had experience with this? Anyone know of any reason this doesn't work?

I know a lot of banks that have a $25 or $50 dollar threshold based on receiving everything needed to process a return from a customer. Some banks don't even bother with a return for lower dollar amounts (some bank's use services that charge them up to $25 a piece). You need to monitor for any abuses, but from an efficiency standpoint, it makes a lot of sense.
