In recent years we have been using the calculator available in the BOL Tools section to help with the date calculations for our MDIA loans.

Each year we have been downloading a current/new copy in order for the calculator to correctly recognize the holidays for the upcoming year.

I'm not seeing one available for 2013 yet - just the 2012 one that has been tweaked to help with the "Important Dates" section of the GFE.

Does anyone know if there will be a 2013 version or if the 2012 version will work.

I could be way off - I just thought we needed an updated one for each new calendar year. Making it available to loan production staff has really decreased any confusion and errors over dates / waiting periods.

According to the tools update sent out a couple of days ago:

Reg Z - Early Disclosure and Loan Closing Timing Calendar (rev. 12-13-12 w/Reg Z Date information. The calendar does not require updating)

Charlie Geimer from Badger Compliance Consulting tweaked the calendar so that you don't need to download it annually. We added some date info because we had questions on it, but the calendar wasn't changed and should serve you through 2013.

Thanks Andy & rl - I kind of thought that we wouldn't need it annually anymore but I was sure.

I'm not quite understanding...it was updated recently, so current versions we have saved would need this replacement, or no?

Also, it's not putting in the years as 1900. That's the date showing on the date calculations tab as well. crazy

I added a cite on rescission dates and Reg Z having a specific schedule of holidays. Some are static, like Veterans Day. We had questions coming in relating to "holidays" so the change is minor and doesn't effect calculations.

But, on the calculations page, the year 1900 is carrying over...surely it shouldn't be doing that.

When you fill in the applicable blanks, what is showing 1900?

I tested again this morning...It works properly if you manually calculate the rate-lock period (following the instructions given, if you lock at application, you enter the expiration date, instead of the number of days the rate is locked for).

Previously, it calculated the rate lock period based on the number of days you said you would lock the rate...Now, if you enter the number of days you want to lock the rate for, it displays as follows:

App received 1-2-13
Earlies - 1-3-13
Rate locked - yes
30 days
GFE Line 1 - January 00, 1900

If I count out 30 days from the 2nd and enter that date, it gives me 2-1-13, but in fact, It's just filling in what I said is 30 days out.

I hope this makes some sense!

So using this new calculator-we count Saturdays as business days, except for the Saturday before Memorial and Labor day, which we are closed. Is there a way to take just those days out of the calculation?

Okay, I've got my issues worked out and sorry, biz...I've been...well..BIZZY! wink

Look at the bottom of the spreadsheet...go to Paramenters...change the "count Saturdays" to "NO", if you don't count them.

But we count all of them except the Saturdays before Memorial and Labor Day when we close down to give employees a long weekend.
