I have not heard of the show... will need to check it out. I liked the first few seasons of L A Ink.

There's another one (TV show) with shop that only does cover ups... I think one of the guys was on Ink Master. I forget what it's called tho, but their work is AMAZING.

I'll have to check to see if we get this. I know some guys with bad tats. I swear the Ikea monkey could do a better job than some of them that I've seen....

If the person giving you a tattoo is using a ball point pen and a guitar string, you may end up with a bad tattoo. wink

Also avoid someone who has the hiccups. laugh

The best part is they always ask the person to tell the story of how they got the bad tattoo. Not surprisingly, the stories often involve copious amounts of alcohol. One client actually got his from a drunk girl---the tattoo artist let her do it! eek

It does. You cannot be buried in a jewish cemetary if you have tattoos- The solution so far has been to have the morticion remove the tattoos before burial.

Do it! Tattoos are awesome, if tasteful and done properly. smile

I have three tattoos myself. Well, technically four, but one is cover by the one I'm currently having done. First tattoo was a religious one I got when I turned 18, and then fell out of religion, so I'm having it replaced by one that will never change (ethnic-based).

The one I'm currently having done, which will also be my largest to date, will run from my shoulder down to my mid-forearm (so a three quarter sleeve). It is based off Northwest Coast Tribal artwork (Haida/Tlingit), which is 15% of my ethnic background - and the only ethnic background I want to honor with a tattoo. It will also incorporate a Canadian Maple Leaf, as I'm a Canadian citizen (and American - I hold dual citizenship), and I'm proudly American, but also just as proud to be Canadian.

The other two tattoos are emblems based off of personal likes, one on my inner right forearm, the other on my lower right leg.

Definitely plan on getting more once my current one is finished.

It's hilarious - my coworkers and those I manage thought I was Mr. Prim and Proper given my personality and outward appearance in the suit - don't get me wrong, I'm not a [censored] raiser or anything - and when we were at a casual bank function, and I was in a short sleeve shirt and shorts, they were like, "OMG YOU HAVE TATTOOS?!"

It's always funny to see people's reactions. Yes, just because I'm a VP and have a respectable position/job doesn't make me a boring, non-indivual person, haha.

The Sovereign State Of Oklahom...
One of the customers on Tattoo Nightmares was a dude in his mid 30's with a tramp stamp and two roses on his chest riding a skateboard. He wanted the tramp stamp fixed so that his son wouldnt be ashamed of him.
Tramp Stamp.....not ok on a dude.
It also was not the best cover up I have seen on there. They covered it with a cartoonish halloween scene. But honetly, due to where he had it, only a full back tattoo would have really gotten it done.
Also one where an alcohol desision had been made. crazy

We saw one on our girl's cruise this past spring. A very large one that went from side to side. An interwoven, infinity thingy. It was very strange to see on a guy.

My husband and I finally caught a couple of episodes of Ink Masters. Pretty good show.

I still LOVE my new tattoo and can't wait for the next! My husband and I are thinking of getting a golf tee with our wedding date etched on it... since we love to golf.

I like to mull ideas over for a LONG time before I get one, so I imagine by this summer, maybe.

State of confusion
I have truly loved reading this. I have a couple of tatoos, a rose and a heart on my bikini line, and a bunny rabbit on my chest. They are never ever visible at work.

I took over as the VP of compliance at my holding companies second bank a little over a year ago - and they all think I am Atilla the Hun because they were in a bad compliance situation so I had to put the hammer down a bit. This year they were discussing tattoos and I chimed in and I thought their jaws would fall off when they heard!

Good Gawd, I am only 37 years old, you'd think I was grandma by the looks on their faces. Made me giggle!
