I've always been curious about the name...Re. Fried. I've never fried a bean the first time around...how to you RE fry the beans? After I've soaked the beans overnight, drained, rinsed and placed in a low Crockpot for the day, I'll strain some out of the pot and add them to a skillet in which I've sauted onions and garlic (with a bit of red pepper flakes) and start mashing them down. They don't turn out as smooth as what you get in a can, but they are fresh and tasty. Yum-O.

Well, Peepers, I'm surprised you don't just heat the can on the stove. Truly an evolved man, are you.

Ommmm...what do you do with the rest of them?

The rest, if I'm not turning the entire batch into refried beans, are for topping tacos, stuffing burritos or eating as a side.

Occasionally, not often by any means, I'll make something without bacon because my doctor says it might be good for my cholesterol.
