Does anyone have any suggestions on where to send a newly appointed CRA Officer for training?

So what happened? No one wants the title or the job so management dumped it someone who knows nothing? Geez....I wouldn't even know where to start.

When I started out in CRA, my bank sent me to the 2011 CRA and Fair Lending Colloquium sponsored by ABA and Wolters Kluwer. The bank enrolled me in a pre-session on CRA Basics. Between the Basics session and the contacts I made, I would say it was a good value for the money.

Beyond that, read, read, read the CRA reg and the FAQs. Search the web for CRA info. The FRB of San Francisco is a good source of materials. BOL is an excellent source too. Hopefully you have some compliance background. Without that I would have been totally lost. Good Luck!

Dallas Fed has some good information too.

I agree, the best way to learn CRA is to read the reg and the Q&A's.
