Those type shelters are generally considered transient housing.

As I thought - the loan operations staff is having a hard time with the class code for this type of property. Any suggestions?

It's not HMDA reportable because it's transient like a dorm or a hotel.

If it's a non-profit (guessing) then "commercial RE" probably wouldn't work.....i think our system has a "real estate-other"....maybe something like that would work?
