Looking for some help with retention schedules. Specifically two items:
ATM envelopes
Declined transaction logs

I know each state has different retention policies so my previous history in Florida might not translate here in Ohio.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Somewhere in the middle
FWIW, our policy is to retain the envelope for 1 year at my current bank.

At my CU, when I rewrote our retention policy, I believe we treated / viewed them as a deposit ticket, and retained them for the same time period. (5 yrs)

But thinking thru this, the record of the persons intent is recorded in your ATM records, which should be electronic and could be retained permanantly if needed.

If you are a Bank, check with the Ohio Bankers League and see if they can give you some guidance, if you are a CU, check with the Ohio Credit Union League or the Ohio Credit Union System.
