80s Film Trivia:

In the movie 'Wargames', what was the password that David used to get into his High School's computer via modem?

What film has these five actors in it:
Nicolas Cage
Forest Whitaker
Eric Stoltz
Anthony Edwards
Nancy Wilson (from the rock band Heart)

In the film 'Footloose', our hero Ren (Kevin Bacon) is pulled over in his yellow VW by the cops for playing the wrong kind of music too loud... Name the song he was listening to, and the group performing it.

Bingo! What was the hit song he had in the 80s? Bonus points for his name without looking it up on the web. Its ok if you do look it up, you just won't get the bonus points. And remember bonus points are worth what the $900,000 in cash was worth to Saddam in that hole he was living in.

You all are getting me excited, I'm having a big 'ol 80's Birthday party next weekend! It's gonna be hilarious, we're having 80's karaoke, and a breakdancing contest... Everyone's dressing up... I found the best flourescent orange sweatshirt, and I'm gonna cut the neck so it hangs off my shoulder, and I found these horrible 80's boots with cutouts and fringe! And some big slouch socks...and yes, I still have my crimping iron!!!

Cutting out a sweatshirt!? I remembered that on the way home yesterday. Even the guys did this. A read a journalist describing the fashion of the time like this:

"Girls have a choice in trendy wardrobes: The Madonna 'just wanna be sexually assaulted' look or the Jennifer Beals 'was just sexually assaulted' look." If you lived through this time, you know what she meant.

You may not know the lyrics--posted below, but you'd probably know it if you heard it. And yes, it was disco and it was awful! Hear it here: Disco Hits

Makin' It
David Naughton

Makin' it
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Makin' it

I'm solid gold
I've got the goods
They stand when I walk
Through the neighborhoods

I'm makin' it
I've got the chance
I'm takin' it
No more, no more
Fakin' it
This time in life
I'm makin' it (oh-oh-oh)
Makin' it

Hello uptown
Goodbye poverty
The top of the ladder is waiting for me
I'm makin' it
I've got the chance
I'm takin' it
No more, no more
Fakin' it
This time in life
I'm makin' it (oh-oh-oh)

Listen everyone here
This coming year's gonna be my year
I'm as bad as they come
Number two to no one
I've got looks, I've got brains
And I'm breakin' these chains
Make some room now dig what you see
Success is mine
I've got the key
I'm makin' it

I think it will be a lot of fun... everyone seems really into it! We've been stockpiling music too... oh, man...what a flashback that has been. We found a rad website "80stees.com", and we're gonna give out some stuff as prizes! We're also using syringes to spike Capri Suns, ha ha!

Boy does that ever bring back memories. I was a pre-teen and teenager during the 80's and I remember just about everything on these lists. And "Analyze This", are you sure that Smurfette was genetically created by Gargamel? I think that she was put in their to deter descrimination. I can't believe that we are talking about the Smurfs, it seems like a 100 years ago that I was watching them on TV. Oh those were the great years. I hope that everyone else has great memories also.

Those were some of the best years of my life, college...partying... after college, getting a job as a waitress at night for a couple of years because I couldn't find a job as an English Major (not a teacher, thank you)... going to the beach all day... then BAM -1988, banking and a husband! The party was officially over...
