I sat with a lady today at lunch that looked eerily like Jen. It freaked me out! Especially when she was eating these huge steak fries. Twilight Zone carp going on lately.

She wasn't as tall though, and her kids were too young. You can't fool me that easily!

I have a 1 month old now. Sure, he's a grandmonster, but I could pass him off as my own.

It has been indicated that I may be lacking as a granddad since I refer to the youngest (2 1/2) as "The Beast". Sure, she smiles and looks all cute and everything, but I can see the evil plot developing behind that smile.

First road race complete! 8K in the pouring rain, 42 degrees with a wind chill of 37 which may not sound bad to some of you, but that is COLD for South Carolina! ::teeth chatter::

Finished in 46:46 with a 9:25 mile pace. I am happy with that, but looking back I had some energy left that I could have put into the last mile or the sprint...oh well. Came in first in my age group (31-40), first out of two but that's not the point...first in my age group, that's what's important!

Now on to the 10K in two weeks in beautiful Charleston, SC!

Way to go Quatro! That's amazing! Be proud of first place!

Any temp in the rain stinks for a race!

I had 28 and sunny with a light wind for my 5k Saturday, more pleasant than I expected it to be. Even went without my face mask and just used a hat. I couldn't believe the number of people in shorts...good way to mess up your legs, standing around in cold for 45 minutes then running a race. Oh well though. Good start to the year!

Way to go Quatro!! I just posted my race stuff in the WW thread. I dont think it was a fit weekend for racing anywhere! My toes were numb about halfway through the race.

Thanks, Mani, Matt_B and bbb! I appreciate the encouragement. The good thing (maybe the only good thing) about raining during a race is you can always hear when someone is catching up with you! When we were done, I had to ring out my socks.

We've been there (BBB carries around two gallons of ice water and periodically douses himself just to keep it challenging!), not great to have soggy socks...or other under-things.

Keeping your under things dry on a cold wet day is a simple fix. Leave them at home!

I'm jealous of all the racing!

I'm not doing too bad. Joints are intact, muscles are still a little sore. I did and easy 3 yesterday and kind of let everything losen up. Today's run will be a bit more challenging, mostly because of the 30mph wind and cold weather....again.

I care not about the condition of your "booty", sir. That was directed elsewhere!

My arms are not quite working properly. Putting on eyeliner this morning was QUITE the chore. I shall have to do more tonight to work it out.
