I need verification if possible. We just started purchasing real estate loans. I thought I read somewhere where we can list "N/A" for the MSA/MD, St & County code. I am now second guessing myself, can anyone lead me to the correct answer?

From HMDA GIR page D-12:

Property locationóloans purchased
from another institution.
The requirement to report the property
location by census tract in a metropolitan
area where the institution has
a home or branch office applies not
only to loan applications and originations
but also to loans purchased
from another institution. This includes
loans purchased from an institution
that did not have a home or branch
office in that metropolitan area and
did not collect the property-location
information.

This makes me think you would have to report the location as long as the census tract is in an MSA where you have a home or branch office.

That is what I thought after I reread the same info you listed. We had an examiner tell us we could list 'N/A".

Thanks so much for the help.
