Here is what I'm dealing with:

We need to complete a CTR on a business that was opened in 1996. We have no paperwork for them and they are not registered with the state. On top of that we have no physical address. The teller has tried to contact the client and they are not returning her calls.

If I put a PO Box and check unknown for the ID will this work?

For the physical address, have you tried the yellow pages or googling the phone number? For the ID, are you talking about the business's id or the transactor's id?

See if your county business license office has an online search or if they have services where you can request a copy.

If you requested articles when the account was opened, you may find the business address in there (or at least the original office's location).

Other than that, I don't know what else to try.

Reverse number lookup on Whitepages.com?

As for the ID, this might be the one time you want to use the "unknown" option for that item.

Doesn't anyone at the bank know where this business is located?

Thank you for the ideas. The branch was finally able to get the information they needed. You would think the branch would know who this business is, but I guess not...they do now.

You might give the branch (and others) a not-to-subtle reminder that the time to see if they have all the info needed to file is before they've processed the transaction. It's amazing how that will squeeze the info out of the conductor.
