I'm researching mobile remote deposit capture for my bank and am wondering what vendors you guys suggest. Our core and OLB is with FIS.

Any and all suggestions are much appreciated.

From having just rolled out this product a month ago, my first question would be as to whether or not you currently offer mobile banking. We had mobile banking already and used a mobile deposit capture vendor that integrates into our existing mobile banking app. It is not the only way to do mobile deposit capture, but that single sign on integration has been valuable in making the process easier for our customers.

If you don't have a mobile banking vendor yet, let me know and I will PM you with our rep's information. I know they work with FIS.

Quick question, when a customer scans a check for deposit from their mobile device, does that item now become an ACH item? Just trying to cover all bases in regards to funds availability.

Typically it becomes a Check 21 item.

It's the same as the business that uses remote deposit capture (image captures only). The only difference is the volume of checks being deposited this way.

So then the scanned checks would still be governed by our funds availability policy??

No - scanned images are not governed under Reg. CC. Any funds availability issues would be governed under your mobile banking agreement.

Randy:

I'm sorry for my ignorance, are you saying that the agreement we have with our core provider (Fiserv)for mobility would drive the availability? I've been looking at larger banks disclosures on line and so far all of them make refernce to their funds availability. Is there some guidance out there that I could read to help me understand this better?

Thanks a million for your help

We have mobile banking through FIS. I've looked at Cachet Financial (and liked the demo). Do you know anything about them? Or does anyone else for that matter?

Thanks for the help.
