I was at Target and noticed these at the checkout.

These look disgusting...........even for me (and I know disgusting!).

Do people really eat these?

Are these used for any other purpose such as door stop, a weapon with a slingshot, dolls?

Some people eat them. I have never managed to convince myself to eat one.

I don't eat them either, I also think they are disgusting. Too gritty and way too sweet.

I agree with MBH. They are amazing if you leave them open so they get stale. Fresh peeps are just nasty.

They must be opened and aged to perfection for the best peeps.

They're especially good in the microwave, but don't turn your back on them or you'll be cleaning off your ceiling and kitchen walls. I hear if you put two on a plate facing each other with a toothpick sticking out of the front of each and put them in the microwave (and turn it on...), they'll duel.

I heard that if you bury a bunch of peeps in your backyard you can then go out and buy some good candy.

I used to eat them as a kid - then I would bounce off the walls for about 45 minutes - and crash.

I think that they would be good to roast over the fire and make smores out of.

Never quite understood the drying them out thing that seems to be so popular.

We built little catapults and threw marshmallows last night. I am thinking we should have used Peeps instead.

My mom *loves* those things, esp. the dried out stale ones. So gross.

I saw some chocolate-dipped peeps at Target the other day. Those might be good for making s'mores.

The sugar on the outside makes them VERY dangerous to use for smores. They become so hot that you will blister your lips and mouth.

There is one BOLer who shall remain nameless (RR, likes to run and has feet issues, pops blisters on the coutertops) that puts these things in the windowsill to dry out for a few days and then eats them.....

I think peeps are disgusting but my wife just bought some. She saw something online that you take twinkie cut out the middle and place the peep in the cut out section and then you take 4 marshmellows put on a toothpick and insert at both ends of a twinkie and so looks like a car with a peep driving it.

I told her if she puts the peep in the twinkie it will ruin the twinkie!

The RR hint isn't going to help you - I'm pretty sure all four of us like stale Peeps. I have some in the pantry from Halloween that I'm saving until they are of proper age.
