What's your favorite Hippie music?
I'm listening to "Atlantis" by Donovan right now.

John B. Sebastian, Lovin' Spoonful, Mamas and the Papas, Country Joe Fish, Joni Mitchell... Loved Country Joe and the Fish....but my favorite song from that era has to be White Rabbit by Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane...

Drivin' that train....high on cocaine...
My parents were dead heads in my early years but I don't remember much of the music.
Not sure what else woudl classify as hippie music separate from oldies and classic rock...?

A few examples of hippie music folks for dip:
The Grateful Dead Janis Joplin (although she also qualifies as blues rock) Jefferson Airplane Crosby Stills Nash & Young Stephen Stills (solo) Neil Young (solo) Buffalo Springfield The Byrds (possibly more folk than hippie) Donovan (also folk, but definitely hippie too) Bob Dylan (covers a lot of ground, has his hippie moments) Joan Baez The Allman Brothers (like Dylan, but lots of hippies love them) Jimi Hendrix The Doors Richie Havens (of course) John Lennon (wrote the greatest hippie song of all time)

renniks, that's one way, but I personally don't consider The Rolling Stones as playing hippie music. Kinda like The Allman Brothers, they played music that hippies liked.

Mouth & McNeal qualify as hippies? They have one of my favorite songs from that era (or near that era).
