Hi All,

The bank has been contacted by a consultant to particpate in a survey to help banks meet the the needs of our communities. The consultant is legitmate so no concerns there. My question is can the bank give this consultant customer's email addresses or would that be a violation of privacy laws? Is there any other regulations or laws I should consider?

The first thing to consider would be your Privacy Policy. What information does it say the bank can share? Who does it say the bank can share that information with? What are purposes for sharing this info & are they permissible under the policy?
I don't believe this would be allowed under my institution's Privacy Policy.

I would be very apprehensive about giving customer email addresses out to anyone. The consultant can buy local email addresses.
