The county we operate out of has recently been declared an MSA by the federal governement but when I looked up the data we werent even listed as a principal city. My question then is would HMDA apply to us if we arent designated as a principal city within an MSA? So confused.

All cities within the county designated as part or the whole of an MSA are considered to be in the MSA.

Correct. Even town, village and hamlet within the MSA is in the MSA. Note that those changes are not going into the effect for CRA and HMDA until 2014.

Blimey! Thanks for your help. So, if it is effective January 2014 does that mean the first time we report is March of 2015?
