In other "racism in the South news" The city of Birmingham is withdrawing funding from the Indy Car race that takes place at Barber Motorsports Park. Legitament arguments could be made for the events need for the money as the race is established and does well, but that is not the side one of the councilmen decided to take. It concerns me greatly that we're supporting something that doesn't support our citizens," "I have seen nobody that looks like me making decisions at Barber motor sports. None. Zero.

http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2013/04/steven_hoyt_regrets_wording_bu.html Well, he isn't the only politician from AL to say some odd, racial-motivated things lately. How do people this volatile get elected?? http://www.examiner.com/article/alabama-...oothed-kin-folkHey man. Your folk never used all this sheit [sic] to protect my folk from your slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous, snaggle-toothed, backward-a**ed, inbreed, imported criminal-minded kin folk.

Mitchell, an accomplished jazz musician, remains popular among his constituents and was unopposed in his last two election. http://blog.al.com/wire/2013/04/who_is_rep_joe_mitchell_meet_t.html

This prom story makes me cringe. When I first read it, I honestly had no words.
I hate racism with a passion.
