Looking to do something different this summer for vacation. Thought of going to New England (Mass, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine) but am Curious if there is anything to see.
Anyone from those areas.
I've heard New Haven is a good place cause of being bteween NY and Boston. And it proximaty to the Ocean.
Any fellow BOL's out there that can share any info?

DD Regs - my husband and I are going up at the end of August. Flying into Maine - going on a whale watching tour - driving down through Boston and going to the Red Sox game.

I never think of New Haven as being particularly near the shore as far as beaches and stuff. If you want shore I'd stay more towards like Mystic or Old Saybrook, or honestly, go into Mass or RI - Cape Cod or Newport, say.
Of course there are TONS of things to see - so much so that you'd probably need to be more specific about what you are interested in - history? sports? food / wine? etc.

We spent the weekend in Newport, RI a couple of weeks ago, it was very nice. I used to summer on Nantucket, before it got spoiled by tourism.

I'd probably focus mostly on Massachusetts then - Boston has Old North Church, Fanueil Hall and Boston Harbor (the Tea Party). There's Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower, Concord & Lexington, Salem, etc. Maybe go out on Cape Cod and do a whaling tour, as Skittles mentioned. Plimouth Plantation is kind of cool (Colonial town.) You could easily add on day trips to RI or NH.
