Thoughts and prayers to all those in the path of the tornados Sunday afternoon. I drive through Carney to Shawnee to work saw homes destroyed or gone. My heart aches for those who lost everything.

Praying for everyone. The Weather Channel had it live while it occurred. A LOT of damage. The helicopter spotted 2 schools that are demolished. It is a mess.

Praying for them all - so hard to see when you can't do anything but pray for the best.

Praying for everyone in Oklahoma. The news is so sad. Poor children in that school.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
salvation army and red cross are both accepting donations.

i won't donate to the red cross because they won't dedicate the funds to any specific disaster, but will use as they see fit anywhere, for any reason.

It's awful. I live in the Tulsa area so it missed us but I have a lot of friends who lost everything down there.

I got a call last night that my National Guard unit will probably be activated to help.. just waiting on the phone call.

Happy there are several local area churches and organizations that are dispersing funds directly to the victims. I agree 110% about the Red Cross, I won't donate to them either. I can find out and post the information.

The Sovereign State Of Oklahom...
Well, its a mess folks. It probably going to be a record breaker and in all bad ways. We have hundreds injured and 51 dead so far, more are expected. On the upside, 101 people were rescued last night, some injured but all alive. If there is a good thing. its that so many people have shown up to help, that they are having to turn some away. The best thing right now is donating to the Red Cross and Specifying Moore or Shawnee (it was hit the day before and is also in a bad way.)
Thanks fot all your prayers and support.
Proud to be an Okie!!

Has OkieBanker checked in lately? I wasn't on the forums much yesterday and I'm not sure where in OK she's located.

Prayers going out to all my Okie neighbors.

I would second the opinon to give to local relief efforts. Being in a location hard hit by hurricane sandy I still have friends who recieved nothing from red cross or just enough from fema to pay to remove what was left of their homes. What I saw from the red cross was them handing out sandwiches at the gas line. While it was nice if I could get to the gas line I could get to McDonalds. Millions was collected and all I saw was locals doing all the work for free. The local volunteer were great setting up at fire stations or even giving there own clothes out of the back of their car in a shopping center. I would love to see where the money went.

I'm here and all my family in Moore is safe. I live in NW Oklahoma now but I grew up in the southern part of Moore where the tornado hit. My mother's house, the one in which I grew up, is 5 streets south of the path of this monster. I still haven't talked to her since phone service is down but I know she is okay.

Thank goodness for texting and Facebook rocks!

When donating to the American Red Cross you can specify "Oklahoma Relief".
