Our marketing department was approached by a business who essentially sells ads that end up in a recipe box that could be given to borrowers at closing. Neat idea and I don't believe there is a prohibition on giving a gift at closing.

My concern is that if we give the recipe box to a customer and another advertiser happened to be a title company or appraiser, would we have a problem? We would be paying for our ad in the box so there shouldn't be a "something for nothing problem".

My other concern is would it look like we were endorsing any of the other advertisers? It really isn't any different than advertising in a magazine, but since we're giving the box out it is a little different.

Any feed back is welcomed. Thank you.

I see no regulatory issues, but only you can answer that question.
