Never been in a the situation that I hated my job. I've had two banks call with job opportunities. At the time of hte offer, both were more money. I ended declining both jobs because I do love the bank I work for (even though there are some frustrating times). Luckily for me, I am making more money now than I would be at either of the other jobs!

I tried, briefly, to do my hobby for a living. It turned into work and then I had nothing fun to look forward to. I also tried, briefly, working in a field that I was passionate about (zoology). Not being able to afford rent and groceries got too stressful. Hence the bank job.  I can see you as the female Jack Hanna with your own show....

I had a job at a large bank where I was so stressed I ended up in the hospital because I blacked out and then went into convulsions on the floor of the bank.
Now I am at a nice family owned community bank that is so enjoyable to work for. Not to mention I make more now. As mentioned above, the trick is to learn all you can from the situation you are in until life offers you something else.

You haven't lived until you've spent an hour picking snake teeth out of your arm. Oddly - the snakes weren't what sucked about that job. It was the craptastic working conditions, bad management, and worse pay.

who here can honestly say that they never worked with a few snakes? At my previous job, we had more than a couple snakes over the years. And hissing cockroaches, scorpions, a variety of lizards... They were much more tolerable than the snakes I work with today!  The roaches got out of the cage somehow and we ended up with an indigenous population of them that grew over the years. No amount of pest control seemed to work!

who here can honestly say that they never worked with a few snakes? "The snakes" have always had a bigger impact on me than any other aspect of the work. I really need to have some respect for the people I work for. At one bank I did not and I left for that reason alone. I can mark that as the day my career began... As for money, there are only two amounts: * enough and * not enough.
