Deer Season starts in 63 days (in my neck of the woods).

No Whole Foods for me. Deer meat is organic enough.

I'm not a hunter but I am an eater.

Venison is delicious.

Y'all can have my portion. I used to cook alot of it for my husband, but now it has to be on the grill since I just can't stand the smell of it cooking anymore. My house is a revolving door for hunters in the fall/winter and we cook alot of it.

I just finished off the meat from last years deer. Mmm ... corn fed venision! I have to worry about pheasant season before I can worry about deer season though. The puppy still has work to do.

Deer season at the beginning of October ... you must bow hunt?

Archery is 9/2 with the rest starting a month later in Tejas.

Going back to basics on bow. No fancy eccentrics and technology. Going old school with a very basic recurve. No sights. we shall see how this goes.

I kid you not, this is the same car in which I hit my first deer. Was smart and didn't hit the brakes; minor damage to the bumper but otherwise slid right over the car. Second time, I braked and it landed on the windsheild; totally my parent's car [I was visiting that time].

I be sure to stay off the back roads at night during the rut (the Al Green music is playing, a chill in the air, deer are in the MOOD). They tend to move around a lot during that time.

Good thing there are hunters out there to thin out the herd and save the motorists.

A number of snakes have been sent off into eternity lately with this hot weather we are having.

I've been known to lift my feet off of the floorboard when running over a snake (shudder)

LOL! I will never get the thing with humans and snakes, but I have seen 250 lb, grown men, armed to the teeth, jump in the air, screem a 10 year old and run at breakneck speed through the forest because they say an 8" garter snake. Geeze people, step around it a go on. Its not like you have to evade Hussein Bolt!

Early traditional muzzle loading season starts in KS 9-16. I will probably hunt even though I have already filled a tag with my SUV. Got a nice buck about a month ago with my 2009 Nissan, $12,000 worth of damage and back in the shop this week alignment still not right. My husband says I still have three tags (vehicles)left, glad he has a sense of humor. Dove starts here 9-1, they are yummy wrapped in bacon cooked on the grill.
