We had a customer, now deceased, who had several accounts, many of them busiiness accounts. The executors now want to open a new account under the estate. Question: Can an estate account open a new DBA account? I am lost.

If the estate can meet whatever requirements your state has for operating a business using a fictitious name, yes. It's common for an estate to try to keep a business viable while slogging through the details of distribution to heirs, paying taxes, and the like.
