We have a Ruger .380 that's great for concealed carry, even comes with a shoot thru case that fits in your pocket like a cell phone. Not much kick Becca, but I find I don't hit the target as well long range, most likely because of the short barrel. But for personal defense you'd most likely be using it short range and that may not be an issue.

My 357 is tough to tote around. Got a special bag with a holster area in the side but it's too darn heavy.

As I read this thread, and noticing some of the folks who are participating, something strikes me as a little ironic. The enthusiastic promotion of a foreign made product.

Not sure which foreign made product you mean, but when you are purchasing a firearm, you buy the one that you believe will serve you best. When making a decision that your life may depend upon, any other standard is ill advised.
And for what its worth, I own both foreign and domestic brands. But until recently, there were no domestic semi auto's that even came close to a Glock for reliablity, accuracy and ease of care.

Man I sure hope not! Maybe they are shooting American bullets. Does that count?

It's hard to find ANY bullets right now, so I wouldn't really care WHERE they were made so long as the fired appropriately!~ smile

Could be the reason why many Police departments and even the FBI use them.

I have a shotgun. It was my dad's and may have been passed down from my grandfather, have no idea. Don't even know if I have any shells to fit it or if it works, but maybe pointing it at an intruder would be enough. I wouldn't know how to load it anyway! Ha! All I know is my dad used to hunt quail with it on Thanksgiving when I was little.

I am going to get one of these, tried it out this last weekend. I did not however get the laser because I am terrible about batteries...I am hoping I will practice enough and be close enough I won't need the laser. It is way cool though. I also discovered I like the roller action instead of the inline. I don't like to have to pull back on it, I could break a nail. lol

We got a Sig Sauer rifle this weekend, so there have been lots of big booms in the back yard (Don't worry, we live in the country and have lots of property). But, the dog hates it!

The bounty hunter that lives down the road was making a ridiculous amount of big booms this weekend...only his big booms are made with dynomite. It shakes the foundations!

The people that lived in the "drug house" in my neighborhood were evicted a couple of weeks ago. I don't feel quite such an urgent need to find a firearm as I did before.
