Don't do it Jafo the "sweetie" is the give away. Some of those people down there have brothers that are 7 foot tall 300 pounds and can play on any NFL team and the others do not need them. laugh

And then there are the Joker and Becca's that can handle 1200 lbs of angry dragons, know how to use whips, spurs and ropes...need I say more....sweetie?

just sayin.

Anywhere I want to be
What puzzled me the most about Atlanta is when people broke down, they left the car in the middle of the interstate. Other places, people pulled off to the shoulder.

Would you want to cripple your way through that madness in a broken down car to get to an emergency lane? eek

Well, technically the Cowboys play in Arlington and their practice facility is in Irving, please don't lump a nice city like Dallas in just becasue they share the name of that horrible team

Rawlins, WY. Spent a year there one night last summer on the way to Grand Teton/Yellowstone. Dirty, disgusting city. What were we thinking.

I didn't like Philadelphia when we visited several years ago. Not sure what I expected, but it was dirty and I felt very unsafe most of the time.

I wonder how many of those who criticize these cities have actually been in them? Blowing through/by them on an interstate doesn't really qualify.

That said, I've actually driven in Gary. It does suck.

Having lived in Saginaw for 29 years, I can say without a doubt Flint is a town not to like. If Detroit can be likened to Cairo, Flint is North Cairo.

There's a reason it's called "scary Gary", but the smell is also awesome.

I get that, but I still wonder when people say such things if they've really been there or are just going off of reputation. Gary is sad, but it's still cool driving by the US Steel mill. That place is massive, and it's cool when it's lit up at night.

I have been to both. I lived in MI, IN, & IL before I moved to the south.

But the real estate opportunities are great?

My Dad is from K-Falls and I still have family there. I have to agree with you on that one, never have found anything to enjoy about it.

Klamath Falls, OR (No falls. W T F?)

Quote:
Klamath Falls, OR is not named for a missing body of water falling from mountain, as many surmise. William Klamath was an itinerant explorer in the 1800s, and had suffered through a rather harsh winter in 1878, having traversed the Continental Divide in the middle of the winter, as he was trying to follow the course set by Lewis and Clark. Billy was hoping to make it to the Pacific Ocean to gain access to a fishing boat or schooner to deliver him to California. Physically exhausted, running low on provisions, his horse having run off, and his mule dying, Billy struggled on until that fateful day in February 1878 that he could go no further, and literally fell flat on his face on the shoreline of a lake. He was discovered by Native Americans, who nursed him back to health through the spring of 1878, and deeded him property on the shores of the lake, where Billy put down roots and built a small trading post that exploded in the late 1800s as a stopping point for miners heading to the the Alaskan Gold Rush. He had named his trading post "Klamath Falls" as a joke to how he ended up in the area, and the small trading post grew into a full fledged town under the weight of gold rush travelers, and the town took the name of the trading post in his honor.

Is the naming of Peepers Gorge similar to how Klamath Falls got its name? laugh
