I had that happen to one of my dogs years ago due to being runover by a four wheeler. Unfortunatly, it involved more than the discs (which would have healed well, according to the vet) but he was further complicated by a bad break in his leg...They put a really long pin in it...unfortunately, even tho the vet keep him for a month or so...the steroids which would have 'fixed' his back worked against the leg healing and it did not end well...I miss that little dog, Spike.
The vet went the extra mile in his case, however...I'll never forget that.
My heeler has fused discs in her back. She has the 9 lives of a cat...I won't even go into all of her 'adventures'. I've had her acupunctured, chiro adjusted, massage therapisted
and on pain meds. Other than a gimp from a broken leg as a pup...and a stiff back...she's 9 and is still a tazmanian devil dog at times.
I'm betting your little fellow will be just fine!
