I was reading in my magazine the National Society sends me that there are some exciting developments and that trials started in 2011 on fixing damage in the brain. smile

I'm surprised at how many of us know someone with MS, besides our BOL friend here. The father of a good friend of mine has lived with MS for 30 years or so. He's 75 now and has some struggles. Let's hope that the researchers discover something wonderful!

Ride, Pup, ride!

Got 3 more donations this morning...all from BOLers!! Without you guys, I wouldn't be "killing it". THANK YOU!!!!

Boaty, you are supporting me. Reading about your TRX and reading about Wonder Woman's Crossfit and everything that people in this forum are accomplishing are more support than anyone could ask for. Thank you for your encouragement!!

I was starting to feel confident about my ability to finish both legs of the MS 150 NEXT WEEKEND, so I stepped on a nail while on vacation.

That should give me something to think about!! smile

24 hours from now, I'll be riding the 2nd half of this ride...nearing the end of it, if I'm not completely done.

Positive thoughts that my foot doesn't come into play (stepped on a nail on Monday), please.

Thank you to all who have made donations. I'm at $480 so far, and I have yet to make my donation, which I will do this evening.

On to Route 66!!

Sorry so late, but I just made a donation for your ride. Good Luck to you. I did MS rides in the early 90's in Northern Ohio. We rode from Cleveland to Cedar Point (Sandusky) and back the next day. You will do fine. I'm sure the support system you have there along the ride will be as good as the ones we used to have. I swear I gained weight on the ride because every rest stop was so well stocked.

Enjoy the ride, enjoy the scenery, enjoy the camaraderie.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the encouragement, BOL Couple!! smile

Backstreets,
1) Thank you for the donation!!
2) Free lunch at the halfway point is what is keeping me going right now. I KNOW I can make it there. smile
3) We had a good portion of our team drop out due to scheduling conflicts or personal issues, so we are pretty much a bare-bones group of widely varying levels of ability/fitness. The bike shop owner is the captain, so I plan to spend a lot of time riding with him and just chatting about what's up and coming in the cycling world. smile

Thanks again!!

Jeremy

Come on up, Pup. There is a nice one here that Tom has considered doing and it's not as long. Probably because of the hills. wink

A couple of the guys I rode and chatted with have done multiple rides all in different states. They had done Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) and said it was a great ride. smile

The one I used to ride was the Pedal to the Point. You start in Cleveland and ride to Cedar Point Amusement park. Once you get there you get admission to the park (at least you used to, don't know if they still do that) and can ride the rides until closing. If you like roller coasters, Cedar Point is considered one of the best parks in the world. The next day you ride back to Cleveland. Mostly flat, with a few rolling hills. Once back in Cleveland, you could take in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or make the short drive down to Canton to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Plenty to do after the ride. I would think the ride around Pittsburgh would have a lot of hills.
