Who keeps beer around long enough for the date to be even remotely close?? Not this girl.

I use smell for dairy, but for meat, I use the color test. I've learned that when lunch meat starts to take on blue and green hues, like the way oil on water looks, it's only got a day or two left.

My role in the family has always been to eat the things that are "iffy." We don't like to waste food.

Near the water
Nice to know! My husband does the same thing and just tells me to boil whatever is in the pot and all will be well. Drives me crazy. One time we got in a battle over collard greens. I decided to see how long this would go on and those dang greens stayed on the stove top for ONE WEEK! ...long disgusting week and he DID NOT eat the greens. (stuff gets thrown out now if it doesn't get put in the fridge that night)

Stop trying to make your coffee into a dessert. Drink it black like grownups do.

I sometimes will drink it black, if it is good coffee. But it also depends on my mood. And I am using this excuse.
