So eating while driving, applying makeup, shaving, etc. are adequately addressed by non-specific distracted driving laws? Or do we need laws specific to these activities as well to ensure that people are aware of what is allowed/not allowed while driving? Sorry, but if use of cell phones (whether texting or talking) needs to be spelled out specifically then we should do the same for these other activities. (I don't believe this by the way)
Also, there should be a law against drivers speaking to passengers while driving as this is no less a distraction then talking on a cell phone.

maybe i'm unique, but i've never heard of a person getting a ticket for eating or putting on makeup while driving

That is the point. They would get a ticket for distracted driving. I have seen people driving down the road with a book leaning on the steering wheel so that they could read it while driving. Are they any less distracted then somebody sending a text? But I know of no one advocating for a "reading while driving" law.

I saw a guy driving and changing his shirt while driving. Are you kidding me?? Go to a gas station or heck pull over on a side street.

HA HA I suppose, but since we were driving down the road, he could have already done that or not yet gotten that far yet. So maybe the cars behind or ahead of me saw that part of the mobile wardrobe swap

wait, i have been known to change clothes when driving, but i do wait until i get to red lights. my favorite story is i had just pulled of my shirt and pants when a street car (trolley if you must) pulled up next to me...fully loaded with tourists...i just non-chalantly sat there like driving in my underwear is something i always did...

I was just glad it wasn't a group of Japanese tourists in the streetcar, because in NO they take pictures of everything

This is true. We lived in Hawaii when I was a little baby and I guess a group of them swarmed my stroller and started taking all these pictures with me. My dad told me this, and I am creeped out that I am in some family vacation album somewhere in Japan.
